Tarbell Presents 2018 Legal Update
Tarbell, Realtors recently hosted California Association of REALTORS® Assistant General Counsel Gov Hutchinson for his 2018 Legal Update. More than 200 Tarbell agents and managers attended the session in person and hundreds more watched via livestream as Hutchinson gave his annual, in-depth review of the latest in California real estate law, disclosures, and forms.
“We pride ourselves in keeping our agents well informed on all changes to real estate law,” said Ron Tarbell, CEO of Tarbell, Realtors. “Gov is definitely the industry’s best resource, and we are so fortunate to have him. He provides these essential updates to our agents year after year. Not every brokerage has the opportunity to have one of California’s most respected real estate experts speak to its agents.”

Hutchinson has been with C.A.R. since 1985 and manages the association’s Member Legal Services Program in Los Angeles. He advises real estate professionals through the “Hotline” on all aspects of real estate law and trains and supervises other “Hotline” attorneys. Hutchinson received his Bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania. Gov has written for California Real Estate magazine, co-authored the C.A.R’s continuing education courses, and is a master instructor for the Education Division of C.A.R. with certification from the Department of Real Estate.
Adding even more valuable legal information to the program was Ben Griffin, partner at Prenovost, Normandin, Bergh & Dawe, and part of Tarbell, Realtors’ in-house legal team. Griffin focused on growing cyber-crime concerns, risk management, and Tarbell’s Legal Indemnification program. “The quality difference between E & O Insurance and Legal Indemnification is huge,” said Griffin. “With Tarbell, your legal protection is second to none.”
